What is Dyslexia?
Specific Learning Difficulties
Dyslexia is characterized by difficulties with fluent and accurate reading and /or spelling, including phonemic awareness, verbal memory retention & processing speed (BDA). It is also considered an unexpected weakness in relation to one's underlying cognitive ability compared to verbal skills in a person and is not related to intelligence in any way. However, it can often impair automaticity and attention & concentration of its subjects in other areas, such as; handwriting, motor coordination and math computation skills.

Emma worked with my son over a number of sessions, to assess his learning difficulties. He enjoyed the time he spent with Emma, doing the different tests he was given and afterwards we were then given a very detailed assessment of his learning difficulties.
